Regarding the recent announced closing of Sears and K-mart stores…

Sears is such a quintessential American brand… it should take advantage of this association and focus a division of its merchandising on the American made nature of the products they sell… develop a formula to report on the source of the raw material, where the raw material was processed and where the final product was assembled including some basic information about labor practices whenever possible.  In other words, do the research on behalf of the consumer who are looking to support American manufacturing by purchasing American made products.  The research itself might be marketable in the form of tagging as a ‘Sears Certified _% American made Product’.
